India to have its 1st plant to convert paddy straw into biogas near Delhi to solve the pollution menace

For the first time, India is converting paddy straw into biogas. The product obtained can be used as CNG in automobiles will come up at Karnal in Haryana. MD of Indraprastha Gas Ltd, E S Ranganathan led the groundbreaking ceremony of the plant. This will come up by 2022, has been set up by Ajay Bio-Energy Pvt Ltd, under 'SATAT' in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas. The plant will produce max 10k kg CBG every day.

360 Infra projects have cost overruns of Rs 3.8 lakh crore due to delays: Ministry report

Over 360 infrastructure projects, each worth Rs 150 crore or more, have shown cost overruns to the tune of over Rs 3.88 lakh crore owing to delays & other reasons. The ministry monitors infrastructure projects worth Rs 150 crore; of these 1608 projects, 360 reported cost overruns & 550-time escalation. According to a report, expenditure incurred on these projects till June 2019 is Rs 935,021.39 crore.

To control the excessive use of single-use paper, On Shamian Island in Guangzhou, China has toilet paper dispensing machines in washroom cubicles equipped with a facial-recognition camera powered by AI. The camera scans the face of the person and allows the person to take 90 centimeters or 35-inches long toilet paper at a time. The same person can not take more toilet paper if he/she appears again within 10 minutes.

It also mentioned that over 35,000 police personnel sacrificed their lives for the country from Independence till Aug of this year. The CRPF which is at the forefront of the fight against terrorists topped the list with 67 casualties.
