A nationwide raid on exporters carried out by Govt, uncovered GST fraud worth over Rs 470 crore

The govt carried out a major search operation across 15 states targetting exporters who claimed a refund on GST fraudulently. Sources say searches were conducted across 336 different locations across the country. It was found that an ITC of over Rs 470 crore was fake. Even tax paid via ITC was more than ITC availed by these firms, in some cases. Further investigations are on a large number of documents were seized during searches.
