Facebook chooses London as base for WhatsApp Pay

Facebook has selected London as the global center for a push into transactions on WhatsApp, the messaging app. This will increase the city’s expectations to come up as a global fintech hub and indicates the firm’s commitment to monetizing the fast-growing platform. WhatsApp Pay will expand its workforce by a quarter by hiring over 100 employees. Most of the software engineers will be hired in London.
