India has become an important manufacturing base as Taipei-based company Foxconn looks to diversify its operations beyond China as the US trade war prolongs even further. Foxconn’s first India facility started in 2015 in Sri City, a special economic zone where goods can be imported and exported, which makes everything from diapers to train carriages. The plant employs almost 15,000 workers, 90% of them women.
