Google fined for illegally collecting children's data on YouTube

Search engine giant Google has agreed to pay a whopping USD 170 million fine to settle charges that the renowned brand had illegally collected and shared data from children on its YouTube video service without the consent of parental supervision, officials stated. The settlement with the FTC till date is the largest amount in the case involving the Children's Online privacy protection Act, a 1998 federal law.
