Indian handset market crosses 350 mn shipments in 2017

The Indian handset market witnessed a rise in shipments from 280 million in 2016 to 350 million in 2017, according to an ASSOCHAM-KPMG joint study. It also revealed that industry's revenue increased from Rs. 1,11,000cr in 2015 to Rs. 1,35,000cr in 2016. Smartphones have also gained immense popularity in India in the last 4 years and constituted 43 percent of the total handset shipments in 2016.
