US to India: Mulling caps on H1B visas to deter data rules

The US has told India that it is considering caps on H1B work visas for nations that force foreign companies to store data locally, widening the 2 countries' row over tariff and trade. Days ahead of Mike Pompeo's visit to Delhi, the plan to restrict the popular H1B visa programme comes in to play. The US Embassy in Delhi didn't respond. The H1B capping is deliberately done in response to global data storage rules.
