Verizon is selling Tumblr for an undisclosed price tag, only two years after buying the social network platform as part of its mega Yahoo acquisition. Started in 2007 as one of the first leading ‘microblogging’ services, Tumblr has now been acquired by Automattic, the web services company which runs blogging platform Wordpress.com. Tumblr becomes the second major Yahoo property to be spun-off by Verizon recently.
