Omicron, the newly-detected Covid variant which has stoked fears of vaccine resistance, is the most mutated version of the virus found so far. Health experts in India claimed that the currently available diagnostics measures may not make accurate detection of the Omicron Covid variant. In the last two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, the SARS-CoV-2 virus has mutated, resulting in genetic variation in the population of circulating viral strains.
