World Health Organisation executive director Dr. Michael Ryan said it would be "premature" and "unrealistic" to think the Covid pandemic could be stopped by the end of 2021. "If we're smart, we can finish with the hospitalizations and the deaths and the tragedy associated with this pandemic by the end of the year," said Ryan. However, the WHO executive also warned against complacency amid the declining cases.
