The lockdown that was imposed in certain parts of Sydney has been extended to all parts of the city and surrounding population centres over the fears of the highly contagious Delta variant amid a fresh surge in Covid-19 cases in the city. "From 6 pm today all of Greater Sydney, the Blue Mountains, the Central Coast and Wollongong will go into lockdown," New South Wales state premier Gladys Berejiklian said.
