Covid-19 lockdown in Melbourne extended by two weeks

The government authorities in Australia have extended the lockdown in Melbourne for two more weeks amid the rising cases of Covid-19. The night curfew has also been reinstated by the authorities in the city. The lockdown was set to end on Thursday night but the rise in cases has prompted the authorities to extend the restrictions till September 2. Victoria state Premier Daniel Andrews urged residents to stay at home.
