Dangerous to assume Omicron will be the last variant, says WHO

The World Health Organisation said on Monday it would be dangerous to assume that the highly transmissable Omicron was the last variant to emerge and that the world was in the 'end game' of the pandemic. Stating that over 80 million cases have been reported worldwide since the Omicron surge, more than the entire 2020, the WHO chief noted that it's not going to be the last Covid-19 variant to emerge in the ongoing pandemic.
