India records 16,326 fresh Covid-19 cases, 666 deaths in last 24 hours

India recorded as many as 16,326 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the active caseload to 1,73,728. The death toll in the country has climbed to 4,53,708 with 666 fatalities in the same time period. Kerala continues to be the worst-affected state due to the pandemic. The state of Bengal has witnessed a twofold increase in Covid-19 cases with Kolkata recording 242 fresh infections in the last 24 hours.
