India records 21,257 fresh Covid-19 cases, 271 deaths in last 24 hours

India recorded as many as 21,257 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total caseload to 3,39,15,569. As many as 271 Covid-related deaths were recorded in the same time period, pushing the total death toll in the country to 4,50,127. Nearly 85.67 percent of the new Covid-19 cases were recorded in Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Mizoram and West Bengal. The active caseload in the country stands at 2,40,221.
