India records 46,759 Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours, highest single-day rise in 2 months

India recorded 46,759 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, marking the highest single-day surge in daily cases in 2 months. This pushed the nationwide tally to 32,649,947 even as over 1 crore people were vaccinated on Friday. 509 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours, pushing the total death toll to 437,370. Kerala remains to be the biggest contributor in Covid cases and the positivity rate in the state stands at 19.22%.
