New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has extended a nationwide lockdown in the country until midnight on August 24 to put a cap on the rising cases of Covid-19. A snap 3-day nationwide lockdown and seven-day shutdown was announced in Auckland by Ardern on Tuesday. "We just don't quite know the full scale of this Delta outbreak," Ardern said. 11 new Covid cases were recorded in the country on Friday.
