Kerala battles fresh surge in Covid-19 cases, complete lockdown on weekend

The Kerala government has decided to impose lockdown in the state on July 31 and August 1 to tackle the fresh surge in coronavirus cases. The state witnessed a fresh surge in Covid-19 cases after the controversial decision of CM Pinarayi Vijayan to announce relaxations from restrictions for Bakrid. The government said that photo studios will be permitted to function on allowable days in view of the NEET examination.
