Over 2,300 infected in UK with Covid variant first detected in India

UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock said that more than 2,300 people in the country have been found to be infected with the variant of Covid-19 that was first detected in India. As many as 2,323 cases of the variant were detected as of Monday. "The vaccination program can give us confidence but we must be alert to new variants that can jeopardize the advances that we've made," Hancock said in a statement.
