Risk of death increases by 133 percent due to Delta variant: Study

According to a study conducted by researchers at the University of Toronto, the Delta strain of coronavirus is the deadliest strain recorded so far. As per the study, the highly contagious variant increases the possibility of more severe outcomes in younger age groups. When compared to alpha and gamma variants, patients affected with the Delta variant had a 108% higher risk of hospitalisation and a 133% higher risk of death.
