The World Health Organisation has warned against the use of 'ivermectin' - an orally-administered drug used for the treatment of parasitic infections, for treating Covid-19. "Safety and efficacy are important when using any drug for a new indication. WHO recommends against use of 'ivermectin' for COVID-19 except within clinical trials," said Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, chief scientist at the global health body.
