UN Women head calls Covid-19 “the most discriminatory crisis” for women and girls

Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, the head of UN women said, the novel coronavirus pandemic is “the most discriminatory crisis” that women and girls have faced. The UN body head referred to women losing more jobs and reports of domestic violence cases to back the claim. She further added that there was an increase in child marriage and nearly 59 percent of women reported having to spend more time on domestic work since the pandemic.
