WHO monitoring Mu variant of Covid-19. What is it?

The World Health Organisation has classified a new variant of coronavirus, 'Mu' variant, and is monitoring it at present. WHO is monitoring five variants of interest such as Eta, Iota, Kappa, Lambda and Mu is the newest addition to the list. The variant is scientifically known as B.1.621 and was first detected in Colombia in January. The variant has mutations that can be resistant to the Covid-19 vaccines.
