Well, the Lok Sabha polls are over and now we got to know that more than 60% of about Rs 9000 crore was spent by the government for procuring EVM and VVPAT units. The 2nd major expenses are the direct expenses on LS polls which were Rs 2019 crore in 3 financial years and other miscellaneous expenses came about Rs 1317 crore, which was a third major expenditure. Since 2017-18, the govt spent Rs 5400 crore on EVMs purchase.
