Sushil Chandra comes as new election commissioner to succeed Sunil Arora

The chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes, Sushil Chandra has been appointed as the new chief election commissioner today. He is all set to succeed Sunil Arora, who was appointed on December 2, 2018. Satya Pinisetty, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, took to Twitter to announce the news. Presently, Chandra is serving as the chairman of CBDT till May 2019, after his time period got extended.
