Geoffrey Rush awarded with $2.9m in Daily Telegraph defamation case

Geoffrey Rush, the Oscar-winning actor has been awarded 2.9 million Australian dollars by a Sydney judge in a defamation case against the Daily Telegraph. Rush now holds the record for largest defamation payout for the past and future lost earnings to a single person in Australia. In November 2017, the paper posted a story "King Leer" about an anonymous sexual harassment complaint against Rush.
