For the first time, AIR broadcasted PM's I-day speech in 15 foreign languages. This was possible due to the External Services Division. Apart from Japanese, German and Spanish the speech was also translated in Arabic, Baluchi, Burmese, Chinese, Dari, French, Indonesian, Persian, Pushtu, Russian, Sinhala, Swahili, Thai, Tibetan and English. This initiative was taken by Prasar Bharti to bolster the global image of India.
