Vishvendra Singh, tourism minister of Rajasthan demanded the ban on the movie 'Panipat' saying that it has distorted the facts. The role of Maharaja Surajmal was condemned by the former CM Vasundhara Raje. The movie allegedly portrays Bharatpur King Maharaja Surajmal as an expansionist greedy emperor who denied help to the Maratha king. Panipat is based on the historical events that led to the Third Battle of Panipat in 1761.
