Sonu Nigam recently triggered a controversy by saying that he wished he was born in Pakistan. Although he later clarified that he meant was Indian singers have to pay money to music companies for work, whereas Pakistani singer doesn't have to and if you are asking Indian singers for money then Pakistani singers should also be giving money. I had joked that I wish I was born in Pakistan, he added.
