Iranian director Mohammad Rasoulof’s film about capital punishment grabbed the top prize at the Berlin International Film Festival. Rasoulof is serving a ban on directing films since 2017 but produced ‘There Is No Evil’, his sixth film, secretly. He can’t travel outside Iran currently due to charges related to his earlier works. His daughter Baran, who also stars in the film, received the Golden Bear on his behalf.
