Tamil actor Vijay questioned by IT officials in connection with a tax evasion case

Vijay is being enquired by the Income Tax officers, in connection with an alleged tax evasion case related to a cinema company. The officers are reportedly searching the properties of AGS Cinema and film financer Anbu Cheliyan in Madurai. In the year 2019, AGS Cinema had produced blockbuster film Bigil starring Vijay. Meanwhile, the BJP in Tamil Nadu had raised voices against Mersal over critical dialogues against GST and demonetisation.
