Under the age of 5, 1 in every 5 children in India is underweight. To be exact, nearly 21% of children, under the age of 5 are suffering from acute under-nutrition, as per the 2018 Global Hunger Index. It stated that the hunger levels in India are serious. Child wasting in India is increasing. It also said that South Sudan is the only country which is worse in such cases. Out of 119 nations, India is at 103rd position.
