100 people present near New Zealand volcano when it erupted: PM Jacinda Ardern

New Zealand's White Island volcano erupted suddenly on Monday. The volcanic island -- also known as Whakaari -- off New Zealand's north coast erupted while groups of tourists were visiting. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said around 100 people were near the volcano when it erupted. According to the authorities, around 20 people were left injured while 1 person died. "It is very much an evolving situation," the PM said.
