1.20 lakh people lost their lives in India in 2020 due to road accidents

According to the National Crime Records Bureau's annual 'Crime India' report, India recorded 1.20 lakh deaths "due to negligence relating to road accidents" in 2020. As per the government data, India witnessed 328 deaths every day on an average. The country has witnessed more than 3.92 lakh deaths in three years due to negligence related to road accidents. 1.36 lakh deaths happened due to road accidents in 2019.
