14,000 cattle died in 2017-18 in India on railway tracks: Data

With the increasing number of accidents, it is becoming necessary to take steps for the safety of cattle in India. According to an internal Indian Railways data, the situation is so bad that every day nearly 70 to 80 cattle are being hit by trains. The number of cattle dying by coming under a moving train has increased from 2,000-3,000 in 2014-15 to over 14,000 in 2017-18. In FY ending March 2019, it went up to over 30,000.
