On a global scale 37% of suicides among women were reported in India

A study revealed that on a global scale, 37% of deaths due to suicide among women and 24% deaths due to suicide among men were reported in India in 2016. The Global Burden of Disease Study 1990-2016, said, in India, 63% suicides were b/w the age of 15-39. On the list of cause of death, suicide is at the top in India. The number of suicide deaths rose to 40% b/w 1990 to 2016 with an expected 2,30,314 deaths in 2016.
