18 killed in accident at coal mine in China’s Chongqing

Eighteen people lost their lives after getting trapped in a mine in China’s southwestern city of Chongqing. At least 24 people got trapped underground by excessive levels of carbon monoxide gas at the Diaoshuidong coal mine. The authorities have started a rescue operation and one survivor has been rescued. China's mines are regarded as one of the most dangerous in the world and this is second such accident in just over two months.
