The biggest project of its kind in the world is where 10m tonnes of CO2 will be captured & buried in 3 largest ports in Europe-Rotterdam, Antwerp & Ghent, under the North Sea. The project hoped to complete by 2030, but the scale of storage in 2 empty gas fields is unprecedented & raises questions about how the CO2 will affect the deep subsurface. The Dutch govt targets a 49% reduction in emissions by 2030.
