41% milk samples are of poor quality, 7% contained serious health hazard

The first-ever milk survey in the country was conducted between 2018 and 2019 by FSSAI. During this 41%, milk samples fell short of some kind of safety parameters and 7% contained serious health hazards. About 6,432 milk samples and 77 samples had residues of antibiotics. The survey has helped to find hot spots for intensified efforts for surveillance and enforcement. 93% samples were found okay for human consumption.
