43 percent of Kerala's landmass prone to disasters like landslides and soil erosion: Study

According to a study published by the Geological Society of India, 43 percent of Kerala’s landmass is prone to disasters like landslides and soil erosion. The study carried out by experts based in Kerala and the US also mentions that 17 percent of the said area has already become ‘dangerously’ disaster-prone. The study further mentions that 74% of Idukki's landmass and 51% of the hilly terrain in Wayanad are prone to landslips.
