A 5000-year-old Egyptian mummy has been discovered by the researchers at British Museum and it is said to be the world’s oldest tattooed woman. It is believed to belong to a Predynastic period, an era before 3100 BC. The Gebelein woman has four small tattoos running vertically over her right shoulder in a linear pattern. The pattern is believed to represent ‘crooked stave’ which is a symbol of power and status.
