63.5% rise in Cybercrime cases in Digital India: NCRB

According to the National Crime Record Bureau data, India witnessed a surge of 63.5 percent in cybercrime cases in the year 2019. While the Digital India initiative has helped the country's growth it has left the weak cybersecurity architecture exposed. Cybercriminals are seeing India as a soft target as internet users continue to grow every day. 44,546 cases of cyber crimes were registered in 2019 as compared to 28,248 in 2018.
