The MK Stalin-led Tamil Nadu government is going to release 700 life convicts who have been serving their imprisonment in prisons across the state, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of late former CM CN Annadurai on September 15. CM Stalin said the convicts would be granted premature release on humanitarian grounds. The state government has also withdrawn 5,570 cases registered against anti-CAA protestors.
