Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) has ordered to cut down 3,000 trees in the Aarey colony to construct a car shed. After protests, 2,100 trees were chopped down while MMRCL said that they have transplanted 1,800 trees at various locations in Mumbai. However, after inspection, it has been found that 800 of those 1,800 trees are already dead as the MMRCL did not follow the proper procedure to plant the big trees.
