Criminalized 158 years back during British rule, the verdict on gay sex has come. The SC said that homosexuality is no more a criminal offence. The CJI Dipak Mishra said that the LGBT community too has the equal rights as others. Although SC has clarified that sex with animals will remain an offence. In 1861 during the British rule, sex between the members of the same gender was stated as a crime.
