Indian railways registered its best safety figures in 5 years

With 40 deaths in 75 accidents, including 2 major accidents between September 2017 to August 2018, Indian Railways has registered its best safety figures in 5 years. Comparing the figures of the period in last 5 years, the fatality figures due to collision and derailment have come down drastically. According to the officials, renewed tracks, removal of unmanned level-crossings, frequent safety monitoring have helped.
