Sharanabasavaraj Bisarahalli, who already has a law degree, two masters degrees and 15 self-authored books under his belt, has now probably become the oldest person to sit for a PhD entrance exam at the age of 89. A retired school teacher and a freedom fighter during the Liberation movement of Hyderabad, Bisarahalli intends to study 'Vachana Sahitya’, a form of rhythmic writing in Kannada, if he clears the exam.
