Media report claims AarogyaSetu is a surveillance App; PIB calls it baseless, rejects the claim

The AarogyaSetu app was launched by the govt to track COVID-19 patients in the nation, which is available on both Android & iOS devices. A media report had alleged that the app is used for surveillance. The PIB took to Twitter to clarify that the media report is baseless & added that the app does not link user location and data with any sensitive personal data. It also said that the app doesn't make users vulnerable to hacking.
