Joydip Bhattacharjee died while saving his child aged 4 years from drowning in a ditch that was completely filled with water. He was a professor of IIT Kharagpur and one of the members of the faculty of Department of naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering. The child got into the water body while trying to click a selfie, the professor tried to save him and at the end was declared dead.
