On September 28, Ramila Umashankar was elected as Bangalore's Deputy Mayor. On 4th October she died after having a heart attack. She couldn’t even complete a week as a newly-elected Deputy Mayor and died at the age of 44. The CM of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy has also expressed grief over her death and remembered her as a dedicated social worker. Her death has come as a shock for everyone.
